Since his arrival in Palau in 2003 Chief Executive Officer of Good Samaritan Hospital in Los Angeles, Mr. Leeka have grown to love the island with regards to its wonderful untouched and well-preserved environment. “The day that arrived and smelled the fresh air in a cold dark night in 2003, I felt that I have found what I was searching for.” After series of arrival to the island, he then has contributed many needed materials for the Ministry of Health which includes an ambulance truck.
With the idea of promoting health and wellness through physical activities, Leeka then seek to have sponsors by gathering some $30,000 US dollars to continue his vision and passion in helping to support his cause. He then used such amount to buy 127 bikes, helmets, and printed t shirts that say, “Palau in Motion” that was distributed to different sectors of the community. In connection to Leeka’s dream and obsession, he then came back to supervise the Babeldoab Island Palau Compact Road Challenge of which he himself tested the route where he finished in 3 hours and 38 minutes and 20 seconds. He then mentioned that he will try to be back every year to witness challengers who will run the course and have their name engraved in a special plaque he made.
