Pelisamen foils Sevens Kings debut win attempt in Gorilla Rocball

The Islanders retained its dominance in this year’s Gorilla Rocball defeating their third challengers in four set game, 93- 71.

Pelisamen was the game’s  heavy hitter that night with five kees, one skunk, and one ace for 14 points, helping the Islanders win every set, 26 – 14; 27 – 21; 25 – 15, and 25 – 21.

The Islanders landed 18 aces, seven skunks, one jam, 16 kees, and one goal scored, and brought home with the Gorilla money for the third time in a roll giving them another chance to get the fourth cash out game in two weeks.

Organizer Jim Ferger recalled how Rocball’s Gorilla Games got started as a lunch time activity at MHS about five years ago.

At that time, games were fast and unpredictable. A game was ten points or a goal, whichever came first. It was set up to get a lot of players in as many games as possible during a lunch period.

And, an invitation to all team net sport players of this kind of game, if one is tired of the rally point scoring method of play, come on up and join the rough point action of Saipan’s own sport.
