Prospects enter drought, 86-64

All was going well for team IP&E Konflikt from the begging of the game until the end. Konflikt swept all of the leads throughout the game; 11 point lead in the first quarter, 13 point lead in the second quarter, 31 point lead in the third quarter, and finally a 22 point deficit.

Konflikt’s Marlon De Dios ignited Konflikt’s winning rally after being fouled and bagging his charity shot. Following this charity shot was a three pointer bullet to inspire and motivate other teammates. Mark Oailitman jumped into the ban wagon and readily showed his basketball talents by connecting to the basket for 6 points throughout the first quarter.

Center man Bruce Berline did not let the action pass him by; Berline threw in a couple jump shots and lay ups to contribute 4 points to their overall score. By the end of the first quarter the Konflikts were leading by 11 points, 18-7.

The Prospects refused that lead to daunt but rather, be a fuel and a source of motivation. But for some reason they could just not get past IP&E Konflikt’s defense barriers. Elmer Esdrelon, star player from last week’s games, came back on the court ready to defend his title. Esdrelon knocked down 8 points throughout the second quarter to make sure team Prospect was well aware of his presence.

Teammate Robledo Talania scored 7 points earlier into the second quarter and helped widen the 11 point gap to a 13 point gap by half time, 32-19.

It was history for team Propsects during the second half of the bout. Konflikt’s shots were more than accurate and rightly timed to give them the upperhand of the game and to finish it off as the winners. Kae Bernardo entered the second half of the game ready to make sure that the opposing team was well aware of his presence.

Bernardo connected the basket for another 16 points after the third and final quarter of the game. Konflikt moved on to win the game and hand another loss to team Prospect who have not won a single game after escaping last season’s bout unscathed, 86-64.
