Masatoshi Otsuka’s long pass from the backfield went through undeterred and reached the right target—Chris Nelson who was dashing from the right field closer to the goal.
Nelson broke the anticipation of Korean Football Association goalie Choi Yong as he fired a sharp shot to the left edge of the goal in the 32nd minute of the first half.
The KFAS staged tighter defense and carried out counter attacks in the second half. The Koreans made a number of attempts but International FC goalie, Evan Hunsberger and fielder David Duenas were in the right spot to foil them.
Jake Hess, Gilmark Reusora and Peter Houk staged excellent skills in dribbling and hiding of the ball as they kept ball possession long enough to find an opening in the second half.
Still having the upper ground, International FC neutralized the ball left and right field a number of times making the time ran out for the KFAS and claimed 1-0 victory.
