Round 4 complete in Rocball

Roc-It defeated Aim Low in an overtime set.

In Rocball, a team can only win if they have outscored their opponents by game points and win the last set.

In another hard played game, Give-a-Hoot was forced to an extra set against the Dream Team. The Dream Team came from behind, won their third set, stopped Give-a-Hoot from ‘juicing out,’ and forced the game into overtime.

In a match that took two overtime sets, Lay Low won two of three sets and led, 27-11 after set two before losing the third set to the Geeks, 14-2. Lay Low outscored the Geeks in game points, 29-27 but failed to win the final (third) set.

In Rocball rules, when a game is not decided by the team that scored the most game points but lost the last set, that team only needs one overtime set to win a game. The team that won the last set of regular play with the least game points needs two overtime sets to win a game. The Geeks won both overtime sets for their victory over Lay Low.

With the end of round four and after 24 games, Rocball now has two Master Blasters: Damart Teregeyo of Give-a-Hoot and Icemwar Somorang of Lay Low.

Damart and Icemwar scored at least once in all scoring categories of Rocball.

In the top heavy hitters, players that haven’t qualified as Master Blasters but are the games leading scorers are Nick Gross with eight two-point serves and nine two-point backcourt kees for 34 points, Jonathan Inacio with 30 points from 13 two-point serves and two goals, and Jason Limes with four two-point serves, seven backcourt kees, and one goal for 25 points.

In the team-scoring categories, Aim Low scored 27 two-point serves, the Teachers scored 16 backcourt kees with two jams, and Lay Low has four three-point goals.

Team standings via win-loss records are: Teachers 4-0, Aim Low 3-1, Alpha Q 3-1, Give-a-Hoot 3-1, Roc-It 3-1, Balls of Fury 2-2, Dream Team 2-2, Geeks 2-2, G-Sparks 1-3, Just-Do-It 1-3, IDK 0-4, and Lay Low 0-4.
