Mancao timed in at 20 minutes and 24 seconds to beat an all-MHS pool in the boys division, followed by second place finisher Charles Bautista (20:37) and Frank Gu (23:30).
Obaldo, who posted, 28:35, arrived at the finish line nearly three minutes before first-runner up Clarisse Cayabyan (31:01) and Shane Fabiana (31:23).
Last month’s winners also included Rumina Litulumar, who recorded 13 minutes and 18 seconds in the girls 14U division.
Hopwood Junior High School’s Berneil Taisacan (14:27), Juan Deleon Guerrero (15:07), and Joshua Mendiola (15:30) secured the top three slots in the boys 14U division.
Junior netter and Saipan Community School student Tammy Ackerman won by a landslide in the girls 12U category with 15 minutes and 32 seconds.
HJHS Hilitai Djamarch Ong clinched the boys 12U title at 14:26.
Lone Garapan Elementary School student Joshalynn Flores claimed the 10U girls title at 9:56 while SCS’ Michael Lee dominated the boys division with 9:23.
The 8U boys division was topped by Saipan Community’s Jason Sablan at 9:04.
The second leg of the cross country series will begin tomorrow, November 5 at the Civic Center Basketball Court in Susupe. Registration starts at 3 p.m. and the race starts at 4 p.m.
