Leo Bobai who lasted seven innings held Shell Marianas scoreless from the fourth all the way to the final inning.
He allowed 12 hits and did not have strike outs.
Although Sai-Pal’s fastest base runner, Tyrone Omar did not make it after Shell Marianas third baseman, Roy Celis caught his land drive, the Sai-Pal sluggers outscored Shell Marianas in the first inning, 5-3.
Sai-Pal pounded Shell Marianas further in the second inning with Bobai, Lefty Shiro, Gloyd Martin hitting doubles and Omar a go-ahead single.
In a bid to come back, Shell Marianas first baseman, Roy Celis, third baseman, Jerry Ayuyu, pitcher, Mel Sakisat short stop, Manny Sablan and left fielder, JR Suel scored run-scoring singles closing the gap in the third inning, 9-7.
But determined to win the league’s third leg, Sai-Pal prevented Shell Marianas from scoring a run in the last four innings.
JP Sablan’s double and Clifton Sill’s single drove Bobai home and Darwin Masaharu scored the final run to stretch the gap for Sai-Pal’s 11-7 victory, capturing the third slot in the final round.
The winning team in the final round of 2088 King and Queen of the Diamond will go to Palau to compete with two teams from Palau and one team from Guam.
The Wild Card single elimination round will be held on Oct. 25 and the final tournament of champions will be on Oct. 26 that will be a double elimination round.
The first leg winner and fourth leg (wild card) winner will face-off while the second leg winner will meet the third leg winner.
Shell Marianas that dominated the first and second round has won the first slot in the final round while Natibu that got second place in the second leg last Aug. 2 and 3 secured the second slot.
Sai-pal and Total Chaos that placed second and third respectively during the first leg are the first two teams in the Wild Card round. The same two teams was in the same order during the second round trailing Natibu, giving away the next pair of slot in the Wild Card round to Sufa Team and On The Rocks.
Auel-Auel and Pacific Telecom Jets secured wild card slots during the third leg.
