Seen as the perfect opportunity for Saipan’s amateur MMA fighters to prove themselves, the ROP 5 is part of the screening process for the Trench Wars 9 that will be held on Dec. 6.
Trench Tech president and promoter, Cuki Alvarez said in an e-mail that about 50 percent of the aspiring fighters who came forward have already signed up and are locked down.
This is usually the “norm” when it comes to signing contracts, he said, especially when the parents also have to sign.
But for the weigh-ins that will be held in Friday from 5 p.m., to 6 p.m., the Trench Tech got a flood of fighters and parents, and confirmation of fights are set in stone.
ROP 5 fighters, especially those who are under 18 years old and need their parents consent need to stop by the gym anytime this week for the official signing of the contracts.
Alvarez also wants to remind all fight fans, team managers and fighters about the date of the fight night, weigh ins and times and the signing of contracts.
Tickets are still available for only $20 at Hannam Market in Koblerville, Trench Tech Gym in Afetnas, 67 Zero Rocksteady Shop in Middle Road and Boarderline Skate Shop in Joeten Shopping Complex across Duty Free Shopping Galleria in Garapan.
