The Team Natibu that started with 9-1 loss to Sai-Pal in Game 4 last Saturday, rallied to the second place to get the second slot for the tournament’s final round where the winning team will represent Saipan in the tournament of champions to be held in Palau in November.
In Game 6 on Saturday afternoon, Team Natibu beat Team Sufa in 10-run mercy rule finishing the game in the fifth inning.
Team Natibu mounted the winning rally during yesterday’s Game 7 shutting out Total Chaos, 8-0.
Marly Techur went deep as he pitched seven scoreless innings against Total Chaos.
Starting with a five-run first inning, Manny Evangelista hit a go-ahead single and scored two runs. BJ Sablan hit a double and Pete Teigita added two singles.
Sai-Pal sluggers started great as they defeated On the Rocks, 25-9 in Game 2 and routed Natibu in Game 4.
However, Natibu came back with vengeance when Sai-Pal came in a double-header yesterday.
Natibu beat Sai-Pal, 8-2 grabbing the second place during Game 9 yesterday.
Dustin Guitano went 3-for-4, hit two singles and a double for Natibu. Bruce Norita went 2-for-3 and hit two singles Ned Norita added one single and one run.
Payton Sakuma hit a triple and went 1-for-3 for Sai-Pal; Poland Masaharu hit an RBI and two singles.
In the preceding game, Sai-Pal bowed to Shell Marianas,.6-4 as Mel Sakisat held them scoreless in the first and second inning. He had one strike out.
In the championship game, Ben Tagabuel hit an RBI scoring Manny Sablan for Shell Marianas. Roy Celis hit three singles as he went 3-for-4.
Jerry Ayuyu hit two singles and went 2-for-3; JJ Laniyo and Ton Camacho both hit an RBI.
Once the final round for the King and Queen of the Diamond is over the winning team will face two teams from Palau and one team from Guam.
Each team competing in the off-island meet shall have a maximum of 15 members to include two or more females on roster.
