With Leo Apelo pouring in eight of his 16 points and Bryan Ajoste adding five in the first quarter, the Sonics put up a three-point lead over the Torch Bearers.
The Torch Bearers however, tightened their defense in the second quarter and Jun Abedes scattered 10 of his 17 points to snatch the advantage.
Leo Galarse chipped in six points for the Sonics.
Joel Javier fueled the Sonics offense in the third quarter with his inside plays and scored seven of his total points, Ajoste improved his scoring surge with another five points and Babauta hit a pair of three-pointers and the Sonics never trailed.
Babauta scored eight more, Crezz Lansang delivered six points and Jordan Galulu scored four points in the final quarter to help the Sonics pull away and win the ball game.
Aaron Angelhardt who contributed 12 points committed his fifth foul with a few minutes more left in the final quarter, leaving his the team with only four players who could only cut the lead towards the ball game.
Jun Abedes and Nelson Samson led the Torch Bearers with 17 points apiece and Puno who blasted with two three-pointers chipped in 16 points.
