LLB Human Resources Manager MaryLou Ada and Housekeeping Manager Janet Santos led the students on a tour of several of the various ultra-modern hotel suites and guestrooms, spa facility, restaurants and conference facilities.

The students were also introduced to the various career opportunities and current entry-level job openings at the resort.

According to NMC instructor Larry Lee, “this type of hands-on experience really broadens our students’

perspectives, especially as they learned so much about one of our premier local resort and recreational facilities, and the qualities and attitudes necessary to succeed in the tourism/hospitality field.” (PR)

NMC Foundation Golf Open meeting

TO help advance post secondary education in the CNMI, golfers will once again meet on the links at the Laolao Bay Golf & Resort for the 8th Annual Northern Marianas College Foundation Golf Open, scheduled for Saturday, April 24.

Interested players are encouraged to register as soon as possible for Flights A, B, C, Championship, Ladies, or Seniors. Showtime is at 6 a.m. and shotgun start is at 7 a.m. The registration fee is $95 per player.

UBA youth caging starts next month

THE Unified Basketball Association is pleased to announce that the 2010 UBA Youth Basketball League will tentatively kick off sometime on May.

For this upcoming youth league, there will be two age divisions: 15 years and under and 18 years and under.

The 20 years and under division will start sometime in the summer as an open division for the youth. 

Each team will have a maximum of 12 players.

In addition, there will only be a maximum of 10 teams per division. For all interested teams/participants, there will be a meeting this coming Wednesday, April 21st, 2010 at 6 p.m. at the Garapan Basketball Court.
