Starz soar past Hustlers in Big League

The Starz — hailing from the big division — defeated the JC Marketing-Toothworks Hunters, 8-0

Jones allowed no hits and only walked one – Hunters’ center fielder Joe Palacios, who couldn’t get to second base after a third out from James Wally.

The Starz scored no runs at the top of the first, but secured their win by the second inning. Third baseman Dave Jones drove Dodet Feliciano home with a single and reached the second base via error. Jones was sent home by another single from left fielder Joaquin Castro. Tomas Camacho scored an RBI double and Josh Jones earned an RBI single. Feliciano took his second turn at the plate, hitting a single and sending Jones home.

Vince Castro and Ben Lizama added two runs, giving the Starz a strong 7-0 lead by the bottom of the third.

The Hunters left the bottom of the frame with no progress, following three strike outs on Eloy Cruz, Lincoln Ingram, and Melvin Keller.

For good measure, Camacho lifted the Starz one run at the top of the sixth. He reached the first base on an error, headed to third via wild pitch, and made his way home on another error by Cruz.
