Long Knockers Steve Jang and Rick Kautz secured the front and back 9 with their longest drives at holes no. 7 and no. 13. Steve Jang garnred the first Closest-to-the-Pin award on hole no. 6 while former Judge Edward Manibusan bagged the other one on hole no. 8 followed by Steve Balakrishna on hole no. 12 and finally Ed Sablan on hole no. 15.
Nick Sablan and Larry Hocog caught four Kingfishers (birdies) each, while Ed Manibusan caught 2. Rick Kautz, Bob Magofna, Ray San Nicolas, Steve Jang, Joe Demapan, Mariano Fajardo, and Ed Sablan refused to let their competitors catch all possible birdies and they too collared at least one per head.
Three golfers were recognized for their lowest net score at the March Ace Banquet at the SGA Handicap Coordinator’s Ranch. Nick Sablan shot an all time low net score of eight under par (64) placing him 1st, Joe Sablan, SGA long time Treasurer, shot a net score of 69, placing him 2nd, and newcomer Manny Blas shot a net score of 69.5, placing him 3rd.
Nick Sablan now joins Tony Deleon Guerrero (2011 January Ace), and John Cruz (2011 February Ace) in preparing for the End of the Year and Ace of Aces Tournament scheduled in November and December.
New member Larry Hocog trailed the top three finishers with a net score of 70, followed by Das Krishna and Rick Kautz who tied with a one under par (71), Ed Manibusan and Frances Sablan tied with an even par (72).
Bob Magofna and Ray San Nicolas tied with a 73, Jim Mitchell 75, Jung Eun Teack and Ray Dela Cruz tied with a 76, Steve Jang and Vice President Larry Deleon Guerrero tied with a 77.
Joe Demapan, Joe Deleon Guerrero, Martin Sablan and President Mariano Fajardo tied with a 78, John Cruz 79, Steve Balakrishna 80, Manny Sablan 82, Ed Sablan 83, and Danny Quitugua 84.
The next SGA Ace Tournament is scheduled to kick off in April at the Laolao Golf Course to continue to fill the rest of the vacant seats for the End of the Year Tournament and Aces of Aces Competition.
