“The fundraising lunch will be at the 13th Fisherman’s Utt at Beach Road. We have about 200 tickets available for a $5-lunch pack,” Taga Riders treasurer Jess A. Santos told the Variety.
He added that the proceeds will be used to buy Christmas gifts for the Man’amko and the young patients at the Pediatric Ward of the Commonwealth Health Center.
“We plan to distribute our gifts for the Man’amko on December 5 and the gifts for the CHC Pediatric Ward on December 6,” Santos said.
Together with the luncheon drive, they will also send out solicitation letters to establishments and individuals who would be willing to donate money and in-kind for the intended beneficiaries.
Santos said Taga Riders had been distributing gifts to the Man’amko and the CHC Pediatric Ward for the past 13 years.
“Taga Riders was established on Saipan in 1994 and we had been actively involved in several activities each year,” he mentioned, saying the club is planning to get involved in more activities for the community.
“We would like to join the annual activities of the National Red Cross, the Marianas March Against Cancer, Veteran’s Day Affairs, and other community activities,” he said.
Santos is encouraging the community to participate in the lunch drive which will start at 11 a.m. on Saturday.
“We would also be glad to accept donations from the community in the form of toys, food, and other gifts which you think would make our beneficiaries happy as an early Christmas present,” he added.
