THE Clique topped the newly added corporate relay division of the 3rd Annual Michelob Ultra Beer Mile 2024, besting seven other teams to place first with a time of 7:06 at the Saipan Vegas Country Club on Friday.

The Clique’s Jason Palacios, Aaron Pamintuan, Brandon Santos and Simon Necesito only had to drink one can of beer and complete one lap each, except for Pamintuan, who also placed third in the men’s division. Palacios was the team captain.

Pamintuan and Necesito are well-known runners while Palacios was more of a drinker. “After watching the first one which they ran individually, I was kind of nervous,” he said. “I saw people vomiting so I said I had to pace myself. But it was only one lap for each  us, so I just blasted it and that’s what we did,” he added.

Palacios didn’t expect his team to take first place but was grateful for the outcome. “I’m actually surprised. I thought we were going to come in third but hey, I’ll take first place,” he said, adding that his team celebrated their victory with more drinking that night.

Palacios has one piece of advice for anyone interested in joining the next Beer Mile: “Join it for the fun, but don’t drink and run.”

The Clique was named after Palacios, Pamintuan and Santos’s TikTok and Instagram accounts, The Clique 670.
