KANOA Football Club is at the top of the food chain with five wins in the 2024 Marianas Soccer League 1 after notching two victories last week at the NMI Soccer Training Center in Koblerville.

Kanoa FC collected their fourth win by beating the Men’s Development Team, 5-0, on Wednesday.

Team chemistry was the name of the game and that was where Kanoa FC excelled. Moving in sync on both ends of the field, they created openings with ease and slipped through the cracks of MDT’s wall leaving Paul Lizama unguarded for the finish after just six minutes of play.

MDT managed to recover and tighten their defense as they held their ground for the next 15 minutes. However, KNFC’s constant pressure was still too much to handle as they gradually wore down MDT, allowing Markus Toves to break through at the 36th and 39th minute marks to extend the deficit, 3-0.

KNFC continued their dominant performance in the second half.

While MDT failed to score, KNFC prolonged the control of most of the possessions and defended well. Jim Maniago and Vicente Reyes then made the highlight reel by contributing a goal each to add the icing to the cake, 5-0.

On Sunday, KNFC outscored MP United Football Club, 3-1.

The real action started in the second half with KNFC’s Daniell Pablo drawing first blood at the 39th minute mark. MPU fought back and both teams filled the next 20 minutes with high-paced exchanges, but it was KNFC that remained in control thanks to their relentlessness, which caused MPU to commit a forced error, scoring in their own goal at the 60th mark to further extend KNFC’s lead, 0-2.

MPU did not end the day empty handed as Isiah Barcinas managed to slip in a shot at the 90th minute mark, but this was quickly answered by Markus Toves to seal the deal, 3-1.
