“The league will have a different format this year, there will be three divisions — the Senior Division (Masters) for ages 40 and above; the Junior (Open) 19 – 39 and Midget division (Youth) 19 and under,” said league coordinator Paul Madriaga.
The maximum number of players is 12 players per team. Entrance fee for the men’s league is $750 including the uniform. If the participating will team provide its own uniform the entrance fee will be $500.
Meanwhile the entrance fee for the youth league is $600 including the uniform. Since this is an all United Filipino Organization members’ league, a player’s eligibility will be screened to include Filipino-Americans and all those who have 50 percent Filipino bloodline. All teams must be under an organizational name as well.
All games will commence at the TSL Gym’s REM center in Gualo Rai. “The UFO league is also eyeing some companies to sponsor this season’s competition. Any company who are interested to sponsor the league are very much welcome,” explained Madriaga.
The basketball committee will have a meeting tonight, 7:00pm, at the Chalan Kanoa Beach Club Hawaii Five-O restaurant.
