Gotten beaten in the 2006 Microgames in Saipan, the lady locals went to prove that they have learned from the past when they showed their teamwork and good ball handling on the receive to whack team Guam in the face of a home crowd chanting beat Guam.
After an emphatic win the first set team Palau could not maintain their momentum to finish off team Guam in three straight sets. They went on then to work on the fourth setting up their power hitter Holly Yamada who time and time again shook the earth with her rattling kills.
And with Palau covering all spaces on the floor getting digs and bumps to prove their swarming defense, team Guam could not find the answer and finally succumb on the fourth set and give Palau a win.
With the victory, the women’s team remains undefeated giving them first seat for the final four and possibly a shot for the gold.
