Younis shoots hole-in-one

But at Hole 13, a par three green, Marianas Variety News & Views publisher Abed Younis, using a three wood, made a historic hole in one.

“At first, he did not know that his golf ball went into the cup.  But his other foursome group started to jump up and down, shouting ‘Hole-In-one, Hole-In-One!’

The hole-in-one was witnessed by his partners, Dennis Yoshimoto, Ken Kato and Koba Shinichiro,” said Tasi Tours general manager David Igitol, who is also a member of the Executive Golf Club of Saipan.

“Mr. Younis was using his favorite brand new titlist golf ball from Hole 1 to 12. When he arrived at Hole 13, he decided to changed his ball and use an old ball he found earlier somewhere at Laolao Golf Course,” said Igitol.

“Hole 13 is partially surrounded by a huge water pond and Younis was afraid his brand new titlist ball might end up in the water pond.

However, little did he know that the old ball he found was the lucky ball that made the hole-in-one.

“He is our champion,” he smiled.
