THE 2023 Budweiser Belau Amateur Softball Association Softball League concluded Sunday at the Dandan baseball field with Audie Maratita and Kiana “Baby K” Camacho receiving several individual trophies.
This season, Maratita recorded a total of nine homeruns and was named the homerun champion. With a total of 30 RBIs, he was also the RBI champion.
As an offensive powerhouse, he led his team, SUFA, the regular season champion with a dominant record of 8-2 which earned him the regular season MVP award.
Th season’s batting champion was Eric Palacios of Man Amigos who went 21 of 27 for a batting average of .778.
The runs scored champions were Joe Lizama (Wazzup) and Dennis Cruz (Hagu La’mun) with a total of 20 runs each.
Tim Wesley (Hagu La’mun) was named the doubles champion with a total of 10 doubles while Ben Higgins claimed the triples champion title with four triples.
On defense, Eric David (Tokahao) bagged the Earned Run Average title with an ERA of 2.63 while Ken Kaipat (Aimeliik 1 Time) was dubbed the strike-out champion with a total of 33 strike outs.
Joey Dela Cruz of the Man Amigos also shared the spotlight as the 2023 finals MVP.
Women’s division
In the women’s division, Kiana “Baby K” Camacho led the individual awardees with a total of five trophies.
Camacho was named the batting champion, going 17 of 28 for a .607 batting average. With Tiah Camacho (Lady Legals), Kiana also claimed the runs scored champion award with 12 runs.
Kiana likewise won the doubles champion award and the RBI champion award with a total of 14 RBIs. For her offensive prowess, she was named the regular season MVP.
Mardina Kaipat (Hot Shots) was the triples champion with three triples while Rachel Salalila (Lady Blue Jays) was the homerun champion with four homers.
On defense, Angel Deleon Guerrero (Lady Blue Jays) was the Earned Run Average champion with an ERA of 2.74 while Janice Celis (Hot Shots) was named the strike-out champion with 36 strike outs.
