TEAM Marianas and the CK Saints beat their respective opponents in the Michelob Ultra Cup 2023 on Saturday at the Ada gym.
Team Marianas dominated Unity Trade, 88-59.
In the first quarter, Unity Trade’s Frank Ferrer connected two triples while team mates Joel Javier and Austin Camacho delivered the buckets as well.
Bu Team Marianas played aggressively and, led by Greg Sablan and Matthew Richardson, they eventually seized the lead, 19-16.
In the second quarter, Team Marianas remained consistent with finishes at the rim thanks to Ervin Villarin, Coby Santos, John Raquepo, and Richardson.
Unity Trade tried to keep their hopes up with Tiago Akyot and Ferrer at the frontline, but Team Marianas remained focus with Santos and Sablan leading their team to an easy win, 88-59.
CK Saints vs OG Rollers
The CK Saints joined the winner’s circle after outlasting the OG Rollers, 91-82.
The OG Rollers started strong as their long-range game was on point with Edison Viana and Jay Art Palmes sinking two buckets each for a 10-point lead in the opening quarter.
The CK Saints fought back and closed the distance in the second canto. In the third quarter, their relentless efforts were finally rewarded with John Tudela, Jason Bahillo and Eli Aughenbaugh carrying their team to the driver’s seat, 69-67.
Th OG Rollers tried to regain control but they could not stop the CK Saints’ Leo Galarse and Aughenbaugh from securing victory, 91-82.
