TEAM Marianas and the Martech Ol’Aces  outgunned their respective opponents Saturday in the Michelob Ultra Cup 2023 at the Ada gym.

Team Marianas’ youth and speed were too much for Roil Soil OG to handle.

All of the Team Marianas players on the court contributed to their first quarter run. Chioni Dela Cruz delivered a triple while Lucio Aldan, Jack Aranda and Ervin Villarin followed suit.

Roil Soil OG’s Dave Camacho and Shayne Villanueva scored six and four points, respectively, but Team Marianas continued their onslaught  and were soon leading 26-12.

The lead only grew larger in the second canto as Roil Soil OG failed to get out of the gutter, scoring seven points only with five coming from the free-throw line.

But Roil Soil managed to bounce back after the halftime break, using their height to their advantage. Alex Standish made his presence felt inside the paint alongside team mate Sid Quan with two buckets each while Bradley Palacios sank five points from the charity line.

But it was still not enough for a comeback as Team Marianas’ Dela Cruz, Aranda and Jude Sablan made it rain from behind the three-point line to seal the deal, 84-51.

Martech Ol’Aces vs CK Saints

The Martech Ol’Aces joined the winner’s circle by outlasting the CK Saints, 69-60.

The Ol’Aces’ Jack Lizama found his rhythm early, draining seven straight points while team mate Airson Atan scored six points for a 24-14 spread.

In the third canto, the CK Saints found their second wind, thanks to the dynamic duo, Leo Galarse and Eli Aughenbaugh, who combined for 11 points to bring down the deficit to just four points, 46-50.

But led by Atan and Preston Basa, the Ol’Aces maintained efficiency during crunch time to eventually pull away en route to victory, 69-60.
