THE Paire Football Club, the U18 National Team A and the MP United Football Club continue to climb the ladder in Division A of the Men’s M-League Spring 2021 after earning their second consecutive win Sunday at the NMI Soccer Training Center.
Paire played against Old B Bank and both teams appeared to be evenly matched as they filled the field with back and forth action for the first 15 minutes of the game.
However, in the midst of exchanges, Paire was able to slip through Old B Bank’s wall of defense using lob passes to open up the chance to strike.
As they pushed deeper, the Paire players were able to find Jireh Yobech in transition. He then delivered a quick shot at the 19th minute mark to give Paire the edge, 1-0.
In the second half, Old B Bank played cautiously and focused on defense. But Paire still managed to score at the 52nd minute mark courtesy of Travis Spaeth.
Toward the end of the game, Paire’s Eric Baratas unleashed a barrage of attacks to score three more goals for his team.
Paire won, 5-0.
A similar story
Against The One Football Club, U18 NT A was simply dominant.
The young team had the advantage of speed as its players drew first blood just eight minutes into the game, thanks to Markus Toves.
His team-mates Aloy Angeles and Kohtaro Goto then joined the scoreboard with a goal each at the 18th and 31st minute marks for a 3-0 lead.
The One players improved their efforts on the defensive end during the second half but it was not enough to hold down U18 NT A as Akira Kadokura took over, sinking two goals in a row to seal the deal for U18 NT A, 5-0.
MP, too
Sharing the spotlight was the MP United Football Club which scored its second victory by outlasting U18 NT B.
It was a tough match, but MP’s persistency was key to victory.
MP did not find the back of the net until the 19th minute when Joshua Abragan broke the silence for a 1-0 lead.
In the second half, MP’s Kwangjo Lim delivered the second goal for his team.
