Peleliu thumps Man Amigos 9-2

PELELIU collected their sixth win in the 2022 Budweiser Belau Amateur Softball League by defeating the top ranked Man Amigos, 9-2, Sunday at the Dandan baseball field.

It was a fairly even match in the scoreless first inning, but in the top of the second, the Man Amigos broke the silence thanks to Mark Toves’ two-RBI single that brought in Pete Sablan and Bill Camacho for a 2-0 lead.

However, that was the end of the Man Amigos’ offense. Peleliu, for their part, staged a rally by scoring in the bottom of the second inning and in the third to even the score.

In the fourth inning, they took over courtesy of the solo homeruns belted by Ben Hocog and Alvin Salas for a 5-2 lead.

The Man Amigos stopped the bleeding in the fifth inning but Peleliu went into another scoring spree in the sixth inning with three more runs. They added another run in the  seventh and final inning to seal the deal, 9-2.

Joining the winner’s circle were Hagu Lamun which routed Aimeliik, 14-3; Asahi which bested Momma Charu, 10-7; Tokahao which outplayed the Red Men, 10-7; and SUFA which overwhelmed the Salty Boys, 12-2.
