TO extend its community service through sports, team building, health and wellness, the Saipan MagaLahi Eagles Club conducted a basketball clinic in partnership with MadFlex Sports on Nov. 19 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Mt. Carmel School gym. The event was open to children and adolescents from 10 to 16 years old. Fifty children and adolescents participated in the basketball clinic.
Founded in 2021, the Saipan MagaLahi Eagles Club is a certified club of the Fraternal Order of Eagles or TFOE, the first fraternal socio-civic organization in the Philippines whose goal is to nurture the fire of brotherhood and serve the community.
MadFlex Sports, for its part, was founded by Dexter Tenorio and his son Derek in January 2020. It is a non-profit organization that aims to train budding athletes and alleviate the anxiety of children amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
Prior to the four-hour basketball clinic, Saipan MagaLahi Eagles Club President Marlon Regaton delivered the welcoming remarks and introduced MadFlex Founder Dexter Tenorio.
The resource speaker, NMI Basketball Federal President James Lee, then delivered an inspirational message to the participants.
The basketball clinic aimed to improve the participants’ physical well-being and basketball skills while promoting camaraderie.
The program featured exercises, body strengthening and conditioning, dribbling, shooting and a demonstration game.
The clinic concluded with the distribution of certificates of participation and the presentation of the Saipan Maga’Lahi Eagles Club’s token of appreciation to MadFlex Sports.
