Saipan Marathon registration open online

(MVA) —  Registration is open at  www.raceroster.com  for Saipan Marathon 2022 half-marathon, 10K, and 5K slated for April 9, 2022, in the Marianas.

Registration fees until March 25, 2022, are $45 for all three courses for both international and resident participants.   Special rates for CNMI students only with a valid student I.D. are $30 for the 10K and 5K. Registration will increased $10 after March 25, and registration closes on April 1, 2022.

All participants will receive  a finisher’s T-shirt,  a certificate  of completion via email, and entry to the awards banquet at 5 p.m. on race day.

“The  Marianas Visitors Authority  is pleased  to bring back our signature  and scenic Saipan Marathon  this year with the strong partnership of Northern Marianas Athletics,” said  MVA  Managing  Director Priscilla Maratita  Iakopo.    “We are  so grateful  for all  our supporters that, despite the challenges, have stepped up this year to support Saipan Marathon and all our runners. We couldn’t do it with you.”

The event is sponsored by the Hotel Association of the Northern Mariana Islands. In-kind contributors are Century Hotel, Serenity Hotel, and Aqua Resort Club Saipan.  Aid stations will be  provided by Saipan  World Resort,  Crowne Plaza Resort  Saipan, Hyatt  Regency Saipan,

Triathlon Association of the CNMI, IT&E, Aqua Resort Club Saipan, Kensington Hotel Saipan, Coral Ocean Resort, and Pacific  Islands Club Saipan.   Supporters  are the Department of Public Safety, the Department of Public  Works, American  Memorial Park,  the Department of Fire &  Emergency  Medical Services, the Division of Parks & Recreation, and Marianas Health Services.

The race follows some of Saipan’s most scenic roadways, starting and ending at Micro Beach and American  Memorial  Park  and providing stunning views of the azure blue lagoon along the Beach Rd. Race packet pick-up will be available on April 8, 2022, from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the American Memorial Park amphitheater. Start time on April 9 is 5:45 a.m. for the half- marathon, 6 a.m. for the 10K, and 6:10 a.m. for the 5K.

Awards will be presented to the top three overall male and female finishers for the Half Marathon,  10K and  5K. In addition,  only the 1st place  male and  female finishers  in their respective age division  category will receive an award.  There will be no age divisions for the 5K Run.

The race is a World Athletics-AIMS Certified Course,  as World Athletics  has agreed to extend the measurement certificates for another 12 months for the Saipan Half Marathon and 10K. This extension will also apply for the courses if used during the Northern Marianas Pacific Mini Games in June.
