Shirley’s beat Paire to reach U14 girls soccer semifinals

SHIRLEY’S Football Club secured a semifinal spot in the U14 girls division of the TakeCare Youth Soccer League by outplaying Paire Football Club, 7-2, Saturday at the NMI Soccer Training Center in Koblerville.

Both teams found the back of the net early in the opening half with Shirley’s Alyssa Borlongan drawing first blood.

Paire found the answer after a few exchanges with Mariana Tababa at the helm to even the score.

Shirley’s regained control thanks to Jackielyn Calage’s ability to finish for a 2-1 advantage going into halftime.

Shirley’s then picked up where they left off with Borlongan completing the hat-trick with two consecutive goals while team mate Ma Ferrer joined the scoreboard to widen their lead, 5-1.

Paire tried to stay in the fight with Windsor Gross connecting the second goal of the day, but they failed to stop Shirley’s onslaught and allowed Cassidee Flores and Christina Napitan to squeeze in a goal each to seal the deal, 7-2.

Kanoa vs Tan Holdings

Kanoa Football Club also emerged victorious after gunning down Tan Holdings Football Club, 9-3.

Kanoa established dominance with ease as they scored five goals in the first half. Ye Lynn Ha led the attack with two goals while Faith Arriola, Beatrice Gross, and Elikristiana Iglecias followed suit with a goal each.

Tan Holdings answered with a single goal in the first half and added two early in the second half, but they could not withstand Kanoa’s bombardment which resulted in four more goals by Gross and Aubrey White en route to a 9-3 victory.
