TONY Deleon Guerrero won the Saipan Golf Association’s November Ace of the Month tournament on Dec. 6 at the west course of LaoLao Bay Golf & Resort.
Deleon Guerrero was in total control as he executed each swing with precision, completing the front nine with a gross of 42. He then improved on the back nine with more birdies and par-saving plays to clinch a gross score of 38 for a total of 87. Thanks to a handicap of 16, Deleon Guerrero’s net score was 71, good enough for first place.
May’s Ace of the Month, Das Krishnan, had another stellar performance, scoring a gross of 41 on the front nine and 38 on the back nine for a total of 84. His handicap of 13 gave him a net score of 71. However, because Krishnan is already an ace, the November title went to Deleon Guerrero.
Coming in at third place was Jung Eun Taeck, February’s Ace. He struggled at first with a front nine gross of 49, but bounced back with a score of 39 on the back nine for a total score of 88. Supported by a handicap of 14, his net score was 74.
In the side events, the Closest to the Pin Award was handed to Frances Sablan for hole #3; Das Krishnan, hole #13; and Rick Kautz, hole #17.
The Longest Drive Award was won by Rene for hole #2 and Juan “Pan” Guerrero for hole #18.
SGA’s other Aces are Ed Manibusan (January), Jung Eun Teack (February), Nick Sablan (March), Juan “Pan” Guerrero (April), Das Krishnan (May), Larry Deleon Guerrero (June), Steve Balakrishna (July), Ed Sablan (August), John “Nanni” Cruz (September), and Alex Tudela (October).
The next SGA Ace of the Month Tournament will be held at Kingfisher Golf Links on Dec. 20, 2020, Sunday. Tee time is at 9 a.m. and show time is at 8:30 a.m.
