VIZION Insurance bagged its first win in the open division of the 2022 Legends Sports Association Invitational Basketball League after holding their ground against Pepoy’s Café, 88-82, Sunday at the Koblerville gym.
Vizion played aggressively and displayed proper ball movement to gain early control. Rodel Pastrana orchestrated the offensive run while team mate Ronald Rueda delivered the buckets for a 23-19 lead.
In the second canto, their lead grew larger as Jonel Palima found his range from beyond the arc while big man Mars Tagle and Ivan Agustin joined the fray to give Vizion a double-digit advantage, 53-35.
But Pepoy’s Café never gave up the fight and were rewarded for their efforts in the third quarter with Antonio scoring back-to-back buckets. Castillo and Genese joined the onslaught to reduce Vizion’s lead, 60-65.
In the final quarter, Vizion’s Pastrana stepped up when he was needed with clutch shots to carry his team to victory, 88-82.
Joining the winner’s circle were JTM Saipan which dominated the Padrinos Tuesday Club, 100-75; and Chang Ming Market which bested Pacific Best Choice, 84-61.
