The store occupied only about half of the space they currently use as a display area today, with only seven employees to start the operations.
Han Nam Supermarket store manager Mr. Ju said that being the only 24-hour store open in the area, Han Nam became a household word in no time and its list of regular clients increased. The store expanded its display area and its services and increased to 19 employees in 15 years.
Attracting a regular line of clients from far and near, Han Nam Supermarket carries a complete line of grocery and household supplies at very low prices from fresh and frozen meat and seafood section, canned goods, school and office supplies, fresh breads, fresh fruit and vegetables, wines and beverages, snacks and candies, rice, car needs, kitchen accessories, bath and baby supplies, dog food and pet items, basic food items, laundry needs, and other household items.
Ju said since H-Mart at the Middle Road converted its store into a wholesale outlet, they have been getting more customers especially individuals who are looking for authentic Korean food products.
“We can assure our clients that we keep top of the line, fresh and affordable products in our shelves,” Ju said.
New food outlet
Han Nam Supermarket enters into another venture as they open a food outlet/snack bar at the rear part of the supermarket in Koblerville.
Ju said that they will be serving ready-to-eat meal packs, bento, and other Korean favorites. Tables are available at the food outlet/snack bar that diners and shoppers can use later but for the time being, bento and meal packs will be ready just for pick up.
With the opening of the food outlet/snack bar, Han Nam Supermarket also added a new food section where marinated, ready-to cook choice meat are available such as spicy pork bulgogi, beef kalbi, pork chop, smoked pork hocks, kimchee, and more items.
