Letter to the Editor: Heroes

Rescuing people who need  help is not an easy task because you are risking your life also.

My brothers and sisters I have a story to tell that happened on an island in the Pacific.

My story is about three best friends: Moe, Larry and Hawley. They had been applying for jobs in the government and private sector but no luck. One weekend they decided to go for a swim at the dock. There, they saw a man floating in the water. Immediately, the three jumped in and pulled the man to the dock. It turned out that they had rescued the governor. Larry and Hawley told Moe to call for help while the two performed CPR. Finally, they revived the governor. He opened his eyes and asked what happened, so the three told him. The governor said, “Thank you to all of you. You guys are my heroes.”

He told the three to come to his office on Monday. When they dropped by at the administration building, they were surprised to see lawmakers and other officials who joined the governor in honoring and recognizing the three heroes. The governor then called the three to this private office. He thanked them again for saving his life. He asked them if they had jobs. The three said no. The governor then asked each of them where did they want to work. Moe said CUC. Larry said DPW. Hawley said he wanted a state funeral. The governor asked Hawley if was going to die.

Hawley replied: “Governor once my father learns that I rescued you he will kill me.”

People of the commonwealth, I believe that Hawley has a point.
