An awesome turn out of twenty-six determined SGA golfers toiled through the all 18 holes. The club made the competition more challenging by declaring “no touch”, despite the heavy rain the night before.
SGA’s Long Knockers Rick Kautz and Nick Sablan blazed the trail in the front and back 9 with their longest drives at holes No.1and No.10 respectively.
Jess Castro won the Closest-to-the-Pin award at hole No.6, while Norbert Sablan took off by storm at hole No.8 while Steve Balakrishna bagged hole No.12 and Ray Salas collared Hole No.15.
Nick Sablan caught 2 Kingfishers, birdies, while John Babauta, Jess Castro, John Cruz, Steve Jang, Jim Mitchell and Jung Teak each caught one.
Three golfers were recognized for their lowest net score at PIC’s Charley’s Cabaret on November 19, 2010 at their Thanksgiving & December Ace Banquet.
John M. Cruz, fondly known as Nani, shot an all time low net of 65 placing him 1st, Edward C. Sablan, Joe Deleon Guerrero and Martin Sablan all shot a net score of 71, but Edward Sablan prevailed placing him 2nd after breaking the tie via score card while Joe M. Deleon Guerrero carted off 3rd place.
John Cruz now joins the other 2010 SGA Aces, in preparing for the End of the Year and Ace of Aces Tournament that is scheduled to blaze on for two days starting on November 27th, 2010, Saturday at Coral Ocean Point with the tee off time scheduled at 9:00 a.m. and December 5, 2010, Sunday at Kingfisher with the tee off time to be determined by the board members.
The 2010 SGA Aces are Vince Rosario (January), Edward Sablan (February), Mariano Fajardo (March), Larry Deleon Guerrero (April), Steve Jang (May), Jung Teack (June), Jose Sablan (July), Martin Sablan (August), Steve Balakrishna (September), Ray San Nicolas (October) and Frances M. Sablan (November).
The Awards Banquet is set for December 18, 2010 Saturday, at 6:30 p.m. at PIC’s Charley’s Cabaret. All Aces will be recognized, the coveted Ace of Aces Champion will be honored, raffle will be drawn for great prizes, a special number will be performed by the Aces themselves (a long time club tradition), with dancing, dancing and more dancing all night long.
