The Konflikts’ success was attributed to Elmer Esdrelon, whose back-to-back three-pointers kept the team ahead in the first half. After being blocked by Mobil’s Pando Muleta, Esdrelon recovered with a steal from Jun Estolas. Gil Gapor recaptured the ball from Esdrelon, landing a field goal for Mobil.
Konflikt’s Jomar Tumaquip snatched passes from Mobil’s Ron Gamboa, striking undefended lay ups with teammate Darwin Barbo.
Pando Muleta was rescued by Marvin Rabauliman after being cornered by Konflikt defenders, keeping Mobil in control. They trailed the Konflikts by six points, with Rabauliman, Estolas, and Gamboa earning a combined 19 points in the third quarter.
While driving the ball for a field goal, Esdrelon was slightly injured after being knocked over by a Mobil defender. He returned to the court a few minutes later to slam two more three-pointers. Handy passes from Tumaquip to Bernard Aquino boosted the team with another four points.
The Mobils stayed close in the scores, putting pressure on Esdrelon and Barbo in the defense. Estolas landed his own set of three-pointers after receiving a pass from Muleta.
A couple turnovers stalled the Mobils’ progress in the last minutes of the game. The Konflikts gained final possession after seizing the ball from Estolas.
