The mission will focus on vision screening, hearing testing, blood pressure and blood sugar testing. Lions Club International is known for its sight loss prevention program in the United States and humanitarian services worldwide and the Saipan Lions would like to bring that to the CNMI community.
The local Lions are basically involved with beautification programs such as trash collection, basketball court renovation, pavilion painting and tree planting.
The organization has conducted health awareness programs for diabetes and cancer in the past, and the medical mission on island would be the first to start a major health program that local Lions will provide to the community.
As part of the Lions vision events, Lions recycle for sight, we will set up also a collection box for old and used eyeglasses.
That same pair of eyeglasses can change another person’s life. These donated eyeglasses will be forwarded to the Lions eyeglass recycling center in the states or locally to clean, sort and package and distribute to people in need.
Imagine helping a child read, an adult succeed in his job, a senior maintain her independence and provide a community with more opportunities to grow and thrive.
The Lions members would like to thank everyone in advance who will contribute to this important work. You are truly helping the Lions make a difference in our community.
The Lions clubs are a group of men and women who identify needs within the community and work together to fulfill those needs.
