Scholarship Board presents Speaker Ngotel Scholarship recipient

Saiske, who is presently attending Taiwan University under a five-year full scholarship grant from the Taiwan government, was represented by her father, George Saiske, and aunt Dilmai T. Saiske during the presentation held at the Scholarship Board office on Tuesday.

Saiske’s aunt said the check will definitely help Saiske support her education in Taiwan. She is taking up International Business and Accounting.

The Speaker Tadao Ngotel Scholarship offers an award of $500 for one academic year to one graduating high school senior from Ngarchelong State.

“I have been doing this for six years now,” former Speaker Ngotel said in an interview. He was a Speaker of Ngarchelong when he started his scholarship program.

“After I ended my term I continued doing it. I want to support students from Ngarchelong who want to pursue college education.”

Among the Board’s criteria for selecting the Speaker Tadao Ngotel Scholarship awardee include citizenship of Ngarchelong, a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.00, and acceptance to an institute of post secondary education.
