This was the assurance given by Saipan and Northern Islands Municipal Council Chairman Ramon B. Camacho.
He said the selection committee tasked to evaluate the names of the leaders has yet to finalize its list.
“The list of names is not final yet. We can always insert names of persons if the family can provide information that one of their family members was indeed a leader,” he added.
Although the committee has already gathered substantial information and records regarding past and present leaders, it cannot disclose their names yet, Camacho said.
Majority of the committee members are former leaders, he added.
“They are seriously brainstorming,” he said.
The recognition of leaders is a “continuing” effort, and the committee can also include current leaders, he added.
According to Camacho, the committee is working smoothly and has not encountered problems in the selection process.
This year, he said, the committee is expecting to implement the project which includes the construction of the leadership memorial park.
Camacho is asking Gov. Benigno R. Fitial to ask the regulatory agencies to expedite the processing of the project’s applications.
