Hassing said his mission to Yap is for his company’s interest in reintroducing and re-establishing business relations.
Hassing said his company, being situated in the region, knows well the problems on sourcing products and services from foreign companies.
He said his company is an “extension of problem solving” to alleviate hurdles governments go through.
With the present military buildup on Guam, he added, the territory’s business distributors will have a lot on their plate to deal with small purchases from the Micronesian islands.
He said his company will be able to work closely with governments regardless of order size as MTL has done in the Marshall Islands, Palau and Pohnpei.
Hassing, who is based in Seattle, was accompanied by business partner Dave Miho from Palau.
While the two were on island, they were able to meet with some local businesses.
Health Services Director James Gilmar and Youth and Civic Affairs Director Larry Raigetal also sat in Hassing’s meeting with the governor and lt. governor.
