Man loses $1,000 in Garapan robbery

Police said Alam Manjurul was exiting the rear door of Big Bang Entertainment at around 5 a.m. to throw trash into the dumpster when the two robbers confronted him.

One of the suspects struck a knife to the victim’s back and ordered him not to move, police said.

Manjurul felt a hand reaching down his left pocket and pulling out a bundle of money worth $1,000, police said.

Manjurul told investigators that he later heard footsteps behind him and saw the two suspects running away.

The victim then called police for assistance.

Manjurul described the two suspects as wearing a dark colored t-shirt, dark colored long pants and a cap.

Department of Public Safety spokesman PO2 Eric David said officers who responded to the scene made a routine check around the western Garapan district and found no one fitting the description of the two suspects.

The case is under investigation, David said.

No other details were provided by DPS.
