The Survivors suffered a big loss to the Red Sox who pounded them with seven run-scoring base hits during last Saturday’s game.
Starting pitcher James Kintaro had 10 strike outs, gave up two hits and walked seven. And it was relief pitcher George Pangelinan’s sharp pitch against Tommy Cangco that prevented the Twins from coming back in the top of the sixth and secured the Survivors’ 6-5 victory.
After Sullivan Kazuo led off a walk and Jerry Kintol hit a double in the bottom of the first, Takao hit a two-run single to help the Survivors take the lead.
Kintaro drove Kintol in with his single before he made it to the second base but was tagged out on his way to the third base in the bottom of the third inning.
Kintaro struck out two more batters before Pangelinan took over the mound and had his first strike out to hold the Twins scoreless in the top of the fifth inning.
With one out in the bottom of the fifth and Truman Shiro singled Kintol got the first base on base-on-ball before Takao drove them in with triple.
Falcons 9, Lions 6
The Tanapag Falcons’s batters sent the defenders to catching errors in the top of the fourth, and they survived the Kagman Little Lions to win the game.
Challenged by Lions’ starting pitcher, Elias Malite, the Falcons struggled in the three straight innings scoring only three runs — a two- run single from Cris Sablan and a scored run from John Quitugua after an error on the second base.
Malite struck out seven in the three straight innings. And in the bottom of third, the Lions rallied to a 5-3 lead.
AJ Evangelista singled for the Falcons before Angel Palacios moved him to the second base with a walk. He made it to the scoring position on a throwing error by the catcher and scored run on another throwing error.
Palacios stole third base and scored run on a catching error. Dyan Camacho also walked, stole third base and scored on an error then, Barry Surumai scored a run on a passed ball to help the Falcons take the lead.
Evangelista and Palacios hit single a piece and scored runs on a passed ball in the top of the fifth to secure their win.
Braves 12, IT&E 2
Starting pitcher Ian Norita had six strike outs and relief pitcher OJ Lifoika struck out three as they pitched no-hitter innings to help the Braves pound IT&E, 12-2.
OJ Lifoika dashed to the first base on an error at the short stop, stole second base and got the scoring spot on a passed ball before Bradley Lieto drove him in with a ground hit in the top of the first inning.
Franklin Lizama also scored a run on a catching error to help set the lead.
IT&E’s Rowen Tudela and Joel Fruit tied the ball game on an error at the short stop in the bottom of the first. But Norita recovered the lead with his RBI single.
Franklin Lizama knocked-in a run-scoring home run in the top of the third and KJ Cruz sprinted to the home base on a passed ball.
Kent Kalen knocked-in a two-run double and Cruz fired a two RBI single and the Braves stretched the distance to rout IT&E.
Dragons 13, Enforcers 2
KJ Deleon Guerrero drove-in two runs with a single, Devyn Flores and Aldin Ngesbai hit an RBI single apiece as the Dragons mounted the attack in the top of the second inning leading to their 13-2 rout of the Junior Police Officers Enforcers last Saturday.
Flores who added another RBI single for the strong second inning, also put up a strong mound as he struck out seven to beat the Enforcers on a 10-run mercy rule.
Hustlers 3, Century A’s 2
Jerome Tagabuel knocked-in an RBI single in the top of the fifth inning for the Hustlers’s winning run over the Century A’s.
June Reyes led off a single, Dizon Magofna duplicated it and scored run for the Hustlers on a throwing error by the short stop.
Jason Villagomez singled before Peterson drove him in to set the lead in the first inning.
Dean Santos had 10 strike outs, gave up only one hit and walk to nail the A’s to two runs.
