Event organizer Sharmain Casquero said she did not expect to see the GIG Discotheque jam-packed by mostly young people who showed up for the event.
“It was a success and we are very happy with the positive response that we got. The kids were thrilled that all their practice and hard work were appreciated by the audience. We hope that more young people will turn to dancing as a worthwhile activity and stay away from drugs because that was what we were aiming for,” Casquero said.
She said celebrating the fifth year of Project Impact was a big accomplishment, and she is hoping the team will have more years of performances and win more awards in different contests.
“The kids were great, everybody was excited to see them perform and we hope to have made a positive impact on the young audience and that we were able to spread the message ‘Say no to drugs, just get up and dance,’ ” Casquero said.
The embers of Project Impact are Ivan De Vero, Janee Christian De Vero, Demalynn James Sablan, Nate Mateo, Nikki Dhan Mateo, Alisa Mike Tangcoy, Adrian Tangcoy, break dancer, Reymark Castro, Marvin Castro, Kevin Razon, and Maryann Guevarra.
