Slovakian cello performer, Japanese pianist to hold concert on Palau

Palau will be able to enjoy Ludovit Kanta’s music. Kanta will be performing with a Japanese pianist, Aya Tsurumi, who is also a well known in the Japan classical music community.

Kanta’s upcoming performance was made possible through the Ludovit Kanta Society, a group of Japanese who have followed and promoted his work.

Former President Kuniwo Nakamura and Japanese counterparts also helped 10 pianos to be shipped to Palau to be donated to church and music organizations.

The group has also arranged for physician/researcher Dr. Shinichi Oka, a renowned HIV research specialist to hold a conference presentation on HIV clinical research.

Most arrangements for accommodation and activities for the arriving parties have been arranged through Western Pacific Shipping Co., an affiliate of Kyowa Shipping. A meeting among the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, the Ministry of Health and executing members of Western Pacific Shipping was held on August 24 to discuss the agenda for the trip.

Kyowa shipping company has been in business with Palau for 40 years ago (15 years with containers) through the former President Nakamura’s request as policy of assistance from the Japanese.

Kyowa was interested in helping with freight, which includes free shipment of products to Palau. The president of Kyowa advocates the cooperation through the Japanese of approximately 40 Japanese and Slovakian guests.
