Basketball Stalwarts from Mindszenty High, Palau High, Emmaus High, Belau Modekngei, and Palau Mission Academy grouped together to create an All Star team that proved to be powerful when they drub a team from the Taiwan Navy using their quickness and athletic ability. The High School boys developed a strong lead at the first half with aggressiveness but were not able to sustain such momentum on the second as the Taiwan cagers inched their way to cut the lead in a manageable margin. However, with their better outside shooting particularly on the three point line, the boys got a breather on the last stages of the fourth canto to lead at 62 – 60. Form there, the Taiwanese could not get a good shot to tie the ballgame and send it to overtime as the youngsters went to hold on to the lead until the final buzzer sounded.
The Taiwan and Palau Basketball friendly competition is on its second year where Palau won against the latter last year to make two in a row in an exciting and exhilarating match.
