For four days people there still do not have electricity and running water, according to Angaur Governor Steven Salii.
Angaur has a population of 200, these residents, 44 homes and offices are dealing with no electricity and water.
Salii said the residents will have to rely on water rationing. He said since the generators run the water system of Angaur, they had to rely on water supply for now for at least one hour daily.
He said that water supply obtained from the tank reservoir.
“It is hard but we know that the Palau Public Utilities Corporation (PPUC) is doing its best to put power back on,” Salii said in an interview.
PPUC in a statement stated that their engineers have been in Angaur State repairing the machines until yesterday and that power will be restored as soon as the work has been completed.
Salii hopes that electricity and water will be restored before the new school year begins in August 16.
He said that he doesn’t want the schoolchildren suffer during school hours.
