‘Speak out and never be alone’

“Never be alone at all. No matter where you may be, always have a buddy with you.”

If you know that someone may be stalking you, Esposo said you should “tell your parents/guardians or a trusted adult to help you out with your situation.”

She added: “We should take more action against these types of incidents. Don’t let your children wander around alone. Always have a back-up plan because you can never know when these incidents may occur.”

Esposo was referring to the recent kidnapping and rape of a KagHS student.

She said she didn’t know that “something as tragic as [kidnap-rape] could happen” in the community.

Throughout the school year, Esposo said, “everything was fine at our school — nothing bad  happened until that incident.”

“I am shocked knowing what happened to her [the victim], especially because I know her as one of my friends. When they found her, we were having our graduation practice at the time,” Esposo recalled.

Through Teen Talk, Esposo said she met the victim who knew her brother.

The former Ayuyu Battalion commander said the victim was a big  supporter of the JROTC.

Esposo said the victim sold the most luncheon tickets when JROTC had a fundraiser.

“She sold around 200 tickets to her family and friends. She also donated as much as she could to make our fundraiser a success,” Esposo said. “She was a really quiet girl, but a really smart one and an athlete, too.”

Esposo said there should be justice for the victim.
