Talavera led the recent roll-off knocking down 1,867 pins besting four other top bowlers, clinching the final slot for the step ladder finals.
Rusty Musca came second with 1,842 pin falls; Richard Leong, third with 1,829 pin falls; Raul Dumapit, fourth with 1,824 pin falls and Alex Castro fifth with 1,799 pin falls.
In the step ladder, Dumapit emerged to be the survivor in the elimination round beating Castro and Leong. He downed 193 pins, against Castro’s 175 and Leong’s 148.
Dumapit faced off with Musca in the semi-finals and won striking 185 pin falls to make it to the finals and meet Talavera.
Dumapit went one round away to victory beating Talavera by 18 pin falls. In the final round however, Talavera avenged and beat Dumapit, 170-159 to win the crown in the 2010 Bowler of the Year.
