“Hopefully the audio books will be here very soon, so our children can start using them,” said children’s library associate Erlinda Naputi.
The audio books were recommended and requested by teachers and parents to help children learn how to read and understand the stories better.
Joeten-Kiyu has very few audio books for adults and some of them are in tape formats, which are now rarely used.
“The audio books will be a very useful addition to the library’s resources, and as early as today, we are already urging our patrons to wait for them,” Naputi said.
The library has added new books and DVDs to its collections recently.
“We are inviting our patrons to check out our latest additions that they can check out and read or watch at home,” Naputi said.
Among the new books this month are “Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Cabin Fever”; “A Candy Apple Book Series”; “Deathnote Series’ Chilton’s Auto Repair Manual”; “Haynes Auto Repair Manual”; “The Best of Me” by Nicholas Sparks; and “Kill Me If You Can” by James Peterson.
The new DVDs include the Leap Frog Learning DVD set, Dora the Explorer Slumber Party, Dora’s Birthday Adventure, Go Diego Go: Underwater Adventure, and The Magic School Bus Human Body.
Joeten-Kiyu is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday to Friday, and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday. It is closed on Sunday, Monday and holidays.
