Tebuteb is RGA’s club champion

The 20-handicapper received top honors this weekend after winning the Refaluwasch Golf Association’s annual Club Championship at the Coral Ocean Point.

Tebuteb scored a 78 net to win last week Sunday according to RGA President Tony Rogolifoi.

Along with a $200 cash prize, Tebuteb scored a free one year membership in the RGA. The club will sponsor him in a tournament of his choice next year.

“It took some skills and mostly luck,” he told Variety during last Sunday’s awards ceremony at the Carolinian Utt.

Tebuteb was this year’s June Ace and was joined by monthly winners Manny Mangarero (January), Jess Wabol (February), Ray Tigilau (May), Diwain Stephen (July), LJ Camacho (September), Tars Olopai (October), Nick Guerrero (November), and Joe Saures (December) — among others — in the Club Championship.

Tebuteb also bagged the ‘Sid K. Peter Award’ for playing the most rounds this year.

Other awards with their recipients in parenthesis were: Most Birdies (Olopai), Most Pars (Ned Norita), Most Bogeys (Joe Demapan and Tebuteb), Most Triples (Guerrero), QD Bogeys (Ulysses Kapileo), Low Gross (Norita), High Gross (Wabol), and Less Putts (Wabol, Tebuteb, and Olopai).
