Wiseman directed Cheroleen Ray, 20; Arinna A. Reiong, 26; Norna Tipingeni, 22; Anson Sansi, 24; and Mark Rudolph, 25, to answer 26 criminal charges filed against them by the Attorney General’s Office.
Ray, Reiong, Tipingei, Sansi, and Rudolph were charged with assault with a dangerous weapon using butane cans; aggravated assault and battery, assault and battery, and disturbing the peace.
The AGO filed additional charge of attempted robbery against Rudolph.
The court did not find probable cause as to the charge of minor consuming alcohol against Ray.
The court imposed a $50,000 bail order on Reiong, Tipingeni, Sansi, and Ray, while Rudolph is being held on $2,000 bail.
Assistant Attorney General Tiberius Mocanu represented the government during the preliminary hearing.
The defendants were represented by Assistant Public Defender Matthew Meyer, court-appointed attorneys Michael White, Michael Evangelista, Loren Sutton and Joseph Camacho.
Detective Catherine Pangelinan said the defendants attacked the cashier at Dhaka store in Chalan Kanoa on Oct. 8, 2011 using butane gas.
The cashier suffered a broken nose, a fractured right cheek, and a bruise on the head, police said.
Two other men were also attacked by the defendants, police added.
