This visit is a follow-up from the May 2011 trip to Ulithi. The team will be visiting all the community schools in the whole atoll. The main purpose of the trip is to monitor teacher performance in the classroom to be sure they have included lessons and activities for children with special needs.
It is the hope that the training will better prepare teachers for the challenges and rewards of teaching students with special needs, as well as understand their roles, and be able to work together with the special education program to meet the individual student’s need.
