Angels crush Brewers, tie series, 1-1

The Tan Holdings Brewers didn’t get the start they needed after posting two outs from fly balls and a third one from Toi Celis.

Second baseman Dave Camacho went 3-for-5 with three singles, one RBI, and one stolen base. Jesus Iguel and Jerome Delos Santos lifted the Angels, 2-0 in the top of the first and Marvin Kaipat sparked their hitting spree an inning later.

Iguel sent Pat Alepuyo and Marvin Kaipat home for two RBI and Camacho delivered a run-scoring single to widen the gap. Just like a cherry on a sundae, first baseman Benwachi Taisacan topped it off with two RBI singles.

Down, 8-0 in the bottom of the frame, Asap Wabol hit a sacrifice fly to center field for the Brewers’ first run.

The Angels fired back with Pete Tomokane and Iguel’s run-scoring singles in the fourth and fifth innings. Iguel went 3-for-6 with three runs and three stolen bases. Alepuyo hit a single for two RBI in the top of the sixth.

Brewers’ Kevin Kapileo bagged an RBI in the ninth inning, but it was all over.

Both teams will face again tonight at the Francisco “Tan Ko” Palacios Baseball Field. The Angels fell, 9-4 in game one last Monday.
